How to setup a naturalistic vivarium!
On our care sheets we describe a couple of ways to decorate your Snakes vivarium. Here we are going to show you how to do a naturalistic jungle/forest setup and hopefully it will inspire you.
If you are unsure of where to get these products we would recommend Surrey Pet Supplies they are who we use for our reptile products and they offer a great service. They also stock a good range of decoration, substrates, water dishes and locks.

Step 1
For the decoration we used two branches, one cork bark tube, three plastic plants and coir substrate, we already had the water dish.
The heating is also here which is a ceramic fitting, ceramic bulb and ceramic guard, we already had the thermostat.

Step 2
For the coir, you just follow the instructions on the package. For ours we had to place ours in 4ltrs of water.
You then leave the coir to soak for 45-60 minutes before draining out any excess water and leaving it to dry out a little before adding it to your vivarium.
Step 3
Once your substrate has dried out enough although this does depend on what you are using, you can then start to add your decor. We start by adding the branches and then we add the substrate.
Step 4
Now time to add the water dish and hide, for this we used a cork bark tube as a hide because it adds a much more natural touch.
Step 5
You can now add any decoration you want to add, we have used a rock and some fake plants but you can also add leaves, moss and even add grass seeds to grow some grass for that extra touch.
Step 6
Now return the glass to the vivarium and place a lock on to stop any potential escapes and we're done!
